More than a few times when I've come across retired couples at the supermarket, I've seen the husband pick up each item his wife has put in the shopping trolley and carefully examine the details at the back of the each label.
And each time I've also noticed that look in the wife's eyes, as she realises just what the husband spending much more time at home actually means. It's the look that explains the mystery of why men die before their other halves.
But shouldn't we try to plan on doing something in our retirement at least worth murdering for?
